As part of my Internship with Rob Yeo Design, I was tasked with improving a preexisting themed entertainment attraction’s pre-show. As part of this task, I illustrated a concept for a vintage desk lamp inspired by the shape of a Brontosaurus – integrating its famously long neck as the lamp’s gooseneck fixture. I returned to this concept soon after with the intent of successfully bringing this lamp to life.

I began by designing the lamp entirely from scratch in SketchUp, ensuring its proportions matched the original concept and would be feasible as a prop in the real world. After slicing the file, 3D printing began using resin to achieve the authentic texture I intended for this maquette once cured and painted. The finished result can also be seen on the top left of the collage above!
